Students of Gomel University, Belarus do voluntary work of assisting Covid vaccination program in Tirupati
Indian medicos studying MBBS at Gomel State Medical University in Belarus, who have come home for vacation, volunteered to work at Urban Health Center in Tirupati to assist the Doctors and nursing staff in administering Covid vaccination. Medico Abroad Consultants and Belarus Parents Association supported the students in this noble cause and obtained necessary permissions for their voluntary work from the DM&HO for Chittoor District Dr. U. Sreehari.
On completion of two weeks service, the students were presented with certificate of participation in voluntary work by the Deputy Mayor of Tirupati Shri Bhumana Abhinay reddy. He appreciated the commitment of medicos to serve motherland. He had also appreciated Gomel State Medical University in Belarus for conducting physical classes to our students even during the Covid period by undertaking full safety measures.

As it remains a fact, due to Covid-19pandemic, the year 2020 was a total washout for foreign MBBS admissions with only online classes offered by universities across the globe. But in the case of Belarus, undergraduate medical course (MBBS) admissions were entertained in 2020 and the Students Batch had physically travelled to Gomel State Medical University and offline classes were conducted for them at the campus.
Special permission for the travel of students’ batch 2020 from India to Belarus was obtained from the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, with the combined efforts of the Belarus Parents Association and Medico Abroad Consultants, Hyderabad, India. The 2020 Batch students completed their first year studies purely in offline mode of classes and have returned to India in June 2021 for spending summer vacation.
In the capacity of Official Representative of Gomel State Medical University, Belarus, M/s Medico Abroad Consultants, Hyderabad, India provided admission and processing services to these students and their parents. They were assisted in visa stamping and travel arrangements. Besides, Mr. V.Rajaram, the Managing Partner had accompanied the students batch from India till Gomel (Belarus) and organized the quarantine, orientation and enrollment services to students. He stayed with the students for more than a month to acclimatize them and ensured smooth studies and living.
